Welcome to the home of
Richard Dunbrack's curiously wonderful
REPURPOSED FURNITURE, FOLKART & SCULPTURE
Richard has been crafting beautiful furniture, folk art and sculptures for over 25 years. Each unique piece is made from reclaimed salvage that might otherwise have gone unnoticed, unappreciated, and likely ended up a landfill.
Richard knows just how to mine for vintage "gems". He sees their worth and incorporates them into his twisty-turny vision. The results are expertly-crafted, totally unique works that are both visually entertaining and absolutely functional.
He applies a perfect balance of utilizing pieces and parts that have a story in and of themselves-then adds his whimsical creativity, masterful design, and attention to detail to deliver one-of-a-kind pieces just perfect for your home or business.
Please enjoy the small sample provided below!

Meet the Artist
Thank you for showing interest in my work and visiting the website. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
I am self taught with no formal background or training in the arts. I am a degreed engineer with a former career as a commercial pilot. My flying days took me to remote places where I often found myself spending down time collecting objects and foraging parts of old buildings. I like aesthetically beautiful objects that have already lived two or three lives. What to do with all this cool stuff was answered when I built my first piece collaborating from my vast piles. These pieces have whimsy and humor as well as function. They evoke ones curiosity to touch and play with, usually accompanied with smiles. Twenty-five years later I'm still having fun mixing it up with whatever lands in my shop. My career has allowed me to raise two wonderful daughter's and reside on the beautiful island of Martha's Vineyard. Many of my customers have become life long friends and continue to amaze me with the placement of my work in their homes.
In the near future, I hope to build a larger barn/work shop on the island. I may offer work shops, we'll see? In the meantime, please enjoy the website and my work. And of course feel free to share my work with others ~ Rich Dunbrack
